Plant ID, is this a fruit or something else?

Does anyone know exactly what this is? It looks like a strange fig but i'm not sure.

I've seen them growing on strange vine like shrubs around the place, but never actually known what they are?

Would be curious to know if these are actually a fruit.

This is most probably one of the varieties of Ficus pumila, the climbing fig. Some are harvested for cooking.

Hey Denise, yeah it is, I did a bit of research into it and found out it was one of the varieties.

There was just no way to remove the thread as it had to be approved, I don't think i'll bother with these though as it seems to have little edibility value.
