Sad day alright as this sort of thing with batsmen wearing helmets is unheard of.He was tipped to make his way back in the test side.Every once in a while in many sports a death or serious injury shakes us all up. Cricket Australia moved quickly to resume the series as " Phil would have wanted it" No mention that, if the series were abandoned, Cricket Aust. would have to repay the sponsors. srt says... Another observation on how things work ; did you notice that the doctor who fronted the media was very junior indeed. Had the outcome been favourable there would have been at least 5 senior doctors to share the glory--the surgeon , anaesthetist(s), ICU personnel and the Director of Clinical Services, at the very least--all in suits or white coats. "Success has many fathers, failure is an orphan" In this case the orphan was some hapless Registrar.
