Boris Spasky says... Julie, yes it was used for many years, like asbestos and CCA timber for kids playgrounds. Sour orange is highly susceptible and offers no resistance to CTV endemic in Australia. This virus was responsible for the death of millions of trees worldwide last century on sour orange rootstock. As per the DPI link for WA, it is not a rootstock used any more, despite producing superb quality fruit. https://www.agric.wa.gov.au/citrus/citrus-rootstocks-western-australia | About the Author Boris Spasky 10th April 2015 7:24am #UserID: 7085 Posts: 184 View All Boris Spasky's Edible Fruit Trees |
