Phil@Tyalgum says... Theoretically all mulberry trees should have male and female flowers on the same tree. I had two white shahtoot trees in Woodend (Vic) and they were loaded with fruit every year, although I didn't notice different male/female flowers being present. This photo seems to show both types with the pollen on the male flowers and the receptive female which eventually develops into the fruit. Interestingly there a lot of seedling trees growing by the roadsides and along the riverbanks up this way, mostly less desirable forms of red or black mulberries it would seem.
