Spined Citrus Bug - Biprorulus bibax

Here in Melbourne we are having a long spell of unseasonably warm weather. It's been over 20 degrees Celsius for more than 100 days in a row - a historic record. And we are getting Spined Citrus Bug - Biprorulus bibax - (otherwise known as Green Shield Bug) on our citrus trees. Very destructive. Never seen them before. Anyone got any sure-fire remedies other than 'shaking them off' into a bucket of kero?

Pick some off and make a tea from their juice, spray on tree to repel.

I have had HUGE amounts of these beasties on my mandarins, from a huge crop I doubt we will get any edible fruit. The fruit is dropping off green and what is left is changing to orange while immature or becoming brown and hard skinned. I have been manually picking these beasts off and feeding them to the chooks, who fortunately love them, but there have been too many of them. Beware if you don't wear gloves the beasties secrete a citrus oil which stings and stains hands.
