BarbaraJohnson starts with ... I have just discovered this disease on one of my peach trees and assume it's either a bacterial or fungal disease. In checking others, I'm fairly certain it is infecting others of my stone fruit trees, as shown in other photos showing tree trunks near soil level. Does this spell the end of these trees? If so, after pulling them out, would it be advisable not to plant in these holes again? | About the Author BarbaraJohnson Roadvale 19th December 2016 10:47am #UserID: 15237 Posts: 3 View All BarbaraJohnson's Edible Fruit Trees |

SueBee says... No Pics? - Fruitbatty but sounds like brown rot which sets after rain and high humidity in soft fruit. Barbara Johnson do you have mulch close to trunks of your trees? Sounds like collar rot to me...remove mulch from trunk and paint trunks with collar rot mixture if so.They will be salvageable if not too far gone...but it is important to keep trunks free from mulch as it holds moisture against trunk and a fungus sets in so they rot.... | About the Author SueBee SW Vic. 14th February 2017 10:31am #UserID: 15056 Posts: 93 View All SueBee's Edible Fruit Trees |
