Hi everyone. I live in Bundamba Ipswich Qld.and was wondering if anyone is growing stonefruit or apples in the Ipswich area. If so, what varieties are you growing and are you doing anything special in preparation and growing. Regards Jan. I currently have Washington Navel doing great. Dwarf Meyer Lemon doing well crops really well to the point that I had to prop it up. Dwarf Hickson mandarine also doing well. Joppa orange just picked approx 40 oranges of it today. White mulberry doing well. R2E2 mango. Got one mango off it last season but that was a beuty. Looking forward to more this season. And Lychee, not doing quite so well but that is my fault. And a new addition waiting to be planted is a Tangelo. Great for juicing. I want to put in a good variety of fruit trees so my grandkids can have the fun of picking their own fruit. So any suggestions and advice are welcome. And yes. I think this forum will be absolutely great, looking at the participation of the people already willing to share their experiences and knowledge. Keep up the great work eveyone. We will all benefit. Regards Jan.

Hi Jan,
we used to live in redbank plains until 2 years ago. Many years ago, I found a peach tree in a friend's house nearby and found the fruit sweet and crunchy(that's the way we like them.) We planted some seeds and were pleasantly surprised that they fruited in 3 years. Have also grown a peachcot which we brought from a produce shop. We have moved both these trees to our greenbank home and they are both doing well. regards Kim

Thanks Kim. I'll try a peachcot. I don't suppose you know the variety of peach that it was. Regards Jan.

Hi Jan,
Sorry, don't know what variety of peach as we found it growing in our friend's compound. They had no idea too as they had just bought the house then. We were told that we could not grow good peaches in queensland and were surprised to find a sweet crunchy variety which we liked.
Have you tried the dragon fruit?. Can give you some cuttings if you are interested. Found them very easy to grow. regards, Kim
