Summer Rambo

Can an apple tree in it's third year, lose all of it's foliage yet still survive?
My Summer Rambo doesn't have a leaf, yet there is life in every single branch.
Any suggestions?

What is a summer Rambo? If it is a rambutan they fruit just as much in autumn and if you are south of 20 latitude they don't enjoy winter.

Mike - I googled and there is an Apple called Summer Rambo from Europe somewhere but this person lilbird needs to enlighten us as to where they live on this planet to determine the leaf loss issue - dont know how posters get through without a location? and also be anonymous?

Mike, its an apple.

Apples are deciduous, so I wouldn't worry too much about it loosing it's foliage, especially if "there is life in every single branch". It should develop buds then burst into life in spring. If not, then you've probably got a dead tree.

Well you could knock me down with a feather. Rambos are rambutans in the local vernacular.

The main issue is Mike - they dont say where they live?? if they live in Aust then leaf loss in winter is normal - im waiting for their reply before i ban them.
