I have a friend in Bali
he wants to try growing some olives
I said im not sure due to humidity and due to lack of chill
however then i recall theres olives growing all through coastal qld
maybe not commercially - but they are here in gardens.
and for an expat in Bali home grown olives might be a real treat.
Has anyone grown and fruited olives in a coastal area from brisbane north?
there are olives here in Townsville, but i havent been here long enough to find fruits
please help me collect this valuable information!

Hi Reville,
The St Helena Island Olive variety is widely available in nurseries in and around Brisbane
(e.g. http://www.bgn.com.au/hotnews.html).
Not to be confused with the extinct plant from the south Altantic island http://www.iucnredlist.org/apps/redlist/details/37598/0).
