Thinning yellow kiwi

Hi all.
My question is can I thin the early fruit on a sweetie kiwi and will it influence the final size of the fruit? I've read somewhere that it makes no difference?? I live in Glenorie where peaches and nectarines are grown commercially and that's what they do with them (actually now they thin the blossom)
I have a yellow sweetie kiwi. I thought I had been hard enough pruning it but over the last few years it always sets SO much fruit. I end up with loads of smaller than regular fruit. I have a green kiwi and I prune it the same (similarly I thought) but don't have that problem - just get normal sized fruit. Pic 1 & 3 are before and pic 2 after thinning. I think I thinned too late last year.
Thanks!
