turmeric

My turmeric rhizomes are yellow and not orange. Is this normal? Not sure of colour of original rhizomes planted

There is 2 main colour forms of turmeric , the paler yellow seems to be more common and the deep orange not as prolific . After much reading about it I think there are actually many more . An American mate who is a bit of an expert on Gingers told me it is most likely a hybrid with many variations .
