My turmeric rhizomes are yellow and not orange. Is this normal? Not sure of colour of original rhizomes planted

There's a yellow turmeric people keep sharing, originally from the Philippines .
, obv people who don't actually use turmeric or else they wouldn't keep sharing it
It does grow faster but it's no good.

Start again with the truly orange curcuma longa
Slower to get started but the only one to grow

A second species that's good is available from daleys and others. Javanese giant turmeric curcuma xanthorhiza known as temulawak in indonesia

It's also rich in curcumin and more effective at lowering cholesterol than regular turmeric

There are a few variations in the classic orange time ric as well. Some are intensely orange, some have richer taste and larger rhizomes and it is not just related to their environment.
