Natalie (cyclonat) there are a few people here who may have seeds that are suitable for your area. What part of NZ are you in? If you have an import permit a copy may need to be enclosed with seeds sent to you.Exchanging seeds you have for seeds from others usually flushes offers out fastest.

No the cocoa beans are only viable if sown within a few days from the pod, then require very warm conditions to germinate and grow.

and super sensitive to cold. I had a small seedling growing in my artificially heated poly house but watered it with tap water from the tank, water temp approx. 13C, seedling curled over within a day.
Note to self if having future intentions of growing Cacao, warm water up first.
