What fruit tree is this?

Hello! Can anyone identify this tree in our yard in Brisbane which has recently produced three round, apple-sized, firm yellow/orange fruit? Admittedly we know very little about plants in general but we find this curious. I've attached a few pics. Any thoughts before we pick one and cut it open would be great! cheers
