Hi, I have a 1.5 metre Dwarf Wurtz I purchased last year from Daleys, I was wondering what was the best "B" plant to pollinated with these tree, I purchased the wurtz because of the size and am concerned I will need to grow a large Avocardo tree anyway for it to pollinated with. Also at what stage should I plant the other tree. Please help.

Having a B to pollinate the A only increases the amount of fruit on each tree by about 20% so you really do not need to have both the a and b. There might not be a dwarf B. If that is the case I would suggest just getting another Dwarf A if space is a problem. If space is not a problem you can use any avocado tree that is B.

Tree depends on climate and wurtz in my area become big trees but this variety has a biennial habit.Pruning can keep the trees much smaller and an open wine glass shape is good.
I say plant a B with Sharwil or Fuerte being great types. Yield in some Californian studies increases from 40% to 150% due to a B tree being close.A flowers open in the morning as a female and the next day as a male. B opens in the afternoon as a female and again the next day as a male. Plant the second tree as soon as you can.
