Kei Apple (Seedling) 6/10

Gamefowl1's Edible Fruits
Update: 1523 days 19hrs

Comments: -

I find Kei Apple very attractive. White bark with glossy dark green leaves. The thorns are very large and I'd imagine could cause a lot of damage if you were to step on one or fall against the bush.
The fruit have a mild, but sweet flavour. Notes of Apricot. They are smaller than Apricots, smooth, and yellow. The seeds easily detach from flesh when eaten.

It took a reasonable amount of years before they fruited, however it is probably a bit crowded by our Soursop trees. By our luck, we managed to receive one male and one female.

Growing: In the Ground

Qty: 2

First Fruited: 18 Years after I planted Cutting

Brazilian Cherry 6/10

Gamefowl1's Edible Fruits
Update: 1523 days 19hrs

Comments: -

We use this as a hedge along our fenceline. The fruit are attractive, with a great flavour. Unfortunately it is too sour for my liking, but I have heard that there are sweeter varieties around. I think that maybe this would be agood in a jam.

The leaves have a nice shine to them, with new growth in a nice red bronze colour. The leaves have a nice odour when crushed in your hands.

First Fruited: 1 Years after I planted Cutting

Governors Plum - seedling (Seedling) 4/10

Gamefowl1's Edible Fruits
Update: 1523 days 19hrs

Comments: - Quite an attractive bush, but can have very large thorns. I find the small fruit pleasant with a mild sweet flavour. Unfortunately this did not fruit for many years and STILL has very small amounts of fruit, despite there being three adjacent from one another, with beehives closeby.

Planted: 1999

Height 4 metres

Growing: In the Ground

Qty: 3
