PS I have a Bergamot orange, It had one fruit and I've saved it. It might contain seeds if you are interested.
Marg says... [27 days 12hrs ago]
wow it is so great when we can eyeball one another as well..I saw you had a bergamot and I would truly LOVE to try the seeds if possible.. we can swap something if you saw and desired and thanks for coming to the garden..we really should have a garden opening just for the fruit freaks..that would really be great fun..

magnificent tree no doubt about it

after the Hass did not flower this year we thought we wouldn't get a crop from this one...thank goodness we were wrong!  the crop is smaller than expected but still must have close to 100 fruit

we think this is the best avocado we have ever tasted..skin is so thin you could eat it and the flesh is like butter. the fruit are also really big

Marg, have you given your tree any particular care? ie protected spot, sunny etc?
Marg says... [27 days 12hrs ago]

Marg says... [27 days 12hrs ago]
Nope we planted the tree sedling long before we came up with anything "special" For the first 2-3 years the icecream bean got stunted with the cold, but now everything is bigger around it (like a LOT bigger!) it is protected and is growing very well. 2 guys out in the Melbourne suburbs further out than us came with photos of their fabulous trees last weekend at our open garden Feb 2010 and they are really big and covered in fruit so looks like once one gets past the small plant stage then off she goes.. But we do foliar fertilise and I think they would love lots of potash..
