Lemon - Eureka (Grafted) 3/10Fiona11's Edible FruitsUpdate: 1965 days 19hrs Comments: - We have fruit from it. Good juice. We have shade cloth guards around all our trees due to the wind. This little lemon grows to the height of the shade guard and then stops. Poor thing - every time it pokes a little branch up into the wind it gets ripped to shreds. When we visit we raise the guard up further and further just to let this tree get up. Dwarf Orange - Washington Navel 8/10Loves Fruit Trees's Edible FruitsUpdate: 3036 days 21hrs Comments: - I've noticed that the branches of my Dwarf Washington Navel has a different formation to the Seedless Valencias. This is interesting because they have a graceful habit it seems. This disturbed me at first but then I remembered how lovely my mother's established Washington Navel looks (20yrs) It has the nicest sweet juicy oranges. It is watered with a slow running hose for an hour each week. This has been her favorite and most successful prize tree - the best she had when she was here in SA. Washington Navel is a heavy producer and the Oranges have a superb taste! If however you live in an area with extended weather that is freezing, you may be better going with a summer variety like Valencia Seedless avalable in dwarf variety. You don't want to lose your whole crop if weather conditions are unsuitable (minus Oc) They need about six months above 14c most of the time I found out. I'm about to place some excerpts of Info about Washington Navels on my hobby-site (re About Me) that is really nice and the best YouTube ever, I've found on their interesting history. You'd be amazed. I loved it! Planted: 2015 Height 30 Inches Growing: In a Pot Qty: 1 Sun/Shade: Full Sun Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: SOILCHARGE (organic) Pest Control: ECO-OIL (organic) as a precaution. Organic Status:Organic Question: Can other gardeners relate to what I said about the graceful habit of our Washington Navels? Was this review helpful? Dwarf Lemon - Meyer 10/10Loves Fruit Trees's Edible FruitsUpdate: 3036 days 22hrs Comments: - I love the pleasant open shape of my Myer Lemon. My research revealed to me recently that the Lemonicious has only a very short fruiting time whereas the Meyer fruits faithfully for most the year and the Eureka throughout the year....an ideal choice if you want two trees! The Dwarf Eureka is available here on the Daleys website - there's not much they don't have since I've been looking more closely. For those who don't know, the Meyer Lemon is a cross between an orange and a lemon and is delightfully sweet and juicy. A once elderly friend of mine had a Meyer growing in one of those big wide enamel tubs in the corner of her patio that had heaps of lemons and is very pretty like my mum's Washington Navel. For some of us, half a Meyer lemon is sufficient on it's own in a glass of water without sugar. It is nice and soothing with a little honey in hot water. If you add 1/2 tsp of fenugreek seeds - leave them there as you drink - this will help you during the winter months. Growing: In a Pot Qty: 1 Sun/Shade: Full Sun Pollination: Self Pollination Fertiliser or Organics Used: SOILCHARGE (organic) Pest Control: ECO-OIL (organic) as a precaution against problem insects such as aphids, mites, scale and leafminers! Organic Status:Organic Question: How long is it usually before you get lots of lemons growing on a Meyer Lemon tree? I'm aware the they fruit pretty profusely. About how many years before they start to do this please. Was this review helpful?
