Shade cloth on days over 35C and lots of water in Summer to prevent burn. I also paint the north facing stems as they were burnt yr 1. By the end of Winter it looks very average, yello/brown leaves falling off and I think it's on it's way out, but bounces back well each Spring. Still no flowers.

Lovely looking tree and has grown very rapidly. New growth has been burnt in it's first Summer, but this year with shadecloth on hottest days no problems. Flowering and tiny fruits set, so far none have matured. Fingers crossed this year.

Cherimoya - White 7/10

Sarah's Edible Fruits
Update: 440 days 17hrs

This tree is going to be big!! Oops may have planted it too close to the house. I am pruning it like mad, lol. Nice smelling flowers but how do I pollinate it?

Planted: 2009

Height 2 metres

Growing: In the Ground

Sun/Shade: Full Sun

Water Given in: Spring

Pollination: Self Pollination

Question:

Help! This tree flowers well, but how do I pollinate it? Many attempts have failed! I used a small paintbrush and poked it up into the flower to try to get some pollen and then followed by putting it into the flower at female stage. How much pollen do I need? How do I know if any has stuck?

This tree has grown well and flowered well, with no fruit. I was under the impression that these are trees that fruit easily here in Adelaide?. I've planted a no-name variety from Bunnings right next to it to hopefully help pollination.

Black Sapote - Seedling

SEPD's Edible Fruits
Update: 1015 days 21hrs

Comments: -

I do not know but it seemed to react badly to Adealide's climate. Leaves fell off at the slightest chill and burnt in the 40deg summer heat. So it struggled over a summer and winter with lots of TLC and shade cloth but in the end died.
