Trixzie \'Pixzee\' Peach JohnI's Edible FruitsUpdate: 141 days 1hrs Comments: - Unfortunately I planted this tree in a sheltered position which seems to prevent the fruit from becoming nice and sweet. Fruit size and color is good though. Tree is now above the fence line and the fruit is much sweeter. The two bigest problems I have is leaf curl (which can be controlled by spraying at the right time), and earwigs which chew the skin of the developing fruit. Plum tree (Grafted) 10/10 Bizibee's Edible FruitsUpdate: 170 days 19hrs Comments: - This was already here when I moved in. The first year I moved in, I had so much fruit, we couldn't eat it all. I made some plum jam with some. The rest I was giving it away in boxes. The following year in winter I pruned it back hard because I wanted the branches to start growing lower so a could reach the fruit and neaten up the tree. That summer I got no fruit which I expected. The next three years I got very little fruit. I guess I pruned I bit to hard. Cling-stone Yellow Peach Au0rey's Edible FruitsUpdate: 226 days 2hrs Comments: - Planted June 2009. This peach tree was transplanted from my friend's garden. It is about 2YO when moved but it transplanted extremely well and bore flowers and fruit the first year on our property. The peaches are yellow clingstone and I have no idea what variety it is. They are crunchy and sweet and the favourite tree of my husband who has no interest in gardening. Fruiting Months October, November, December Planted: 2009 Height 3 metres Growing: In the Ground Sun/Shade: Full Sun Pollination: No Fertiliser or Organics Used: Blood When I Fertilise: Winter Pest Control: Lime Sulfur before bud swell but it still got a fair bit of leaf curl. Will do twice a year of lime sulfur. Organic Status:Partially Organic Question: If I want to control the size of this tree, should I trim it in spring/summer so that I allow it to have time to grow new shoots before it goes dormant in winter? If I trim it only in winter, wont I lose a season of crops??? Was this review helpful? Yes | No | Report * You need your own My Edibles Page to contribute Quick & Easy ![]() ![]() |
