dwarf coconut-unknown var (Seedling) 7/10 John Mc's Edible FruitsUpdate: 2 days 10hrs Comments: - I know I'm having myself on with these dwaft coconuts but the foliage is nice and besides, I like palms anyway. They got through last winter easily and have doubled in growth over the last year. I'm not expecting them to fruit anytime soon but they're a good show off to my visitors. At the moment they're in 25lit bonzai bags, and will have to be potted up into something bigger next year if the growth keeps happening. Planted: 2010 Height 1 metres Growing: In a Pot Qty: 3 Sun/Shade: Medium Sun Pollination: Self Pollination When I Fertilise: Winter and Spring Pest Control:

Peanuts - Arachis hypogaea Kathy's Edible FruitsUpdate: 41 days 22hrs Comments: - Spring 2011: Gift from a lovely friend. I've never had fresh peanuts so I am excited to try some. Summer 2012: I have been given a second (bought) one as a gift. Gonna have fresh peanuts this year!! Can't wait! Planted: 2011 Qty: 2 Pollination: No Pest Control: Tiny leaf-curling caterpillars. They damaged most of the folliage in one day/night. Annoying - too wet to spray, too many to just cut them off. Squished them as I could and moved the plant to the glasshose to recover. Bunya Nut 10/10 Philippa From Derby WA's Edible FruitsUpdate: 266 days 20hrs Comments: - I planted a bunya nut of this size about 20 years ago in NSW on a creekflat which is now my sisters property. It stands 25m high and is magnificent. So I had to plant one here on our property for sentimental reasons. It also has an edible nut which is delicious. This tree is another plant from Daleys from last year. It is planted near my fenceline in full sun. We are half way through our long hot dry so it is on a dripper and is watered dailey. We are fortunate to have bore water as without it I would not have half the garden that I do. It is doing well and already a haven for spiders and such that build their webs close to the trunk as the spikey leaves keep the predators at bay.
