Aquatic, spreading reed like plant with tasty underground corms.
FEATURES: A spreading reed like herb growing to approx. 1 m tall. Underground corms are harvested annually in Winter after foliage dies back. Used widely in Asian style cooking. Highly nutritious with a crunchy texture and a nutty flavour. Can be eaten raw or cooked; peel and use whole or finely sliced.
CONDITIONS: Requires wet, boggy soil. Ideal around ponds. Can be grown indoors in a brightly lit position submersed in an aquarium. Prefers slightly acidic soils.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Keep wet at all times allowing reeds to die ba~k before harvesting corms.

• use in stir fry or any Asian style dish
