Evergreen small tree approx 3-5m, producing sweet edible yellow fruits for jams, jellies and sauces. Prefers warm moist conditions; tolerates dryness, moderate frost. Ideal security plant.

The hole for planting should be twice the area of the root-ball and 8-10 cm deeper which is back filled to give roots an easy start. Build up depth of top soil rather than dig down in clay soils. Aberia caffra the hole for planting should be twice the area of the root-ball
