Kiwifruit Seedling

Seed selected from a very sweet yellow fruited variety. We have found these seedlings to flower within 3 years from seed and exhibit low chilling requirements They will not come true to type but may be worth experimenting with to see if you can come up with your own special selection. Remember they are delicious and hence seedlings may be male or female. They also make an excellent rootstock for grafting Kiwifruit varieties onto.

Large elongated fruit. Dark brown skin with dense, short, bristly hairs. Light-green flesh of good flavour. Ripens early May. Vigorous and productive with a relatively low chilling requirement.

Hardy Kiwifruit - 74-49F female

Related to the Chinese Gooseberry it differs in fruit and hardiness. The fruit are generally green, fuzzless, and the size of grapes. Cut open, they look much like regular kiwifruit with its small black seeds.

Hardy Kiwifruit Seedling

A small, green to purple skinned fruit similar to kiwifruit. Often sweeter than the kiwifruit, hardy kiwifruit can be eaten whole and need not be peeled. Thin-walled, its exterior is smooth and leathery, providing a deceiving contrast to the fuzzy, brown exterior of its larger sibling fruits.
