bowhunter starts with ... Just found this link. hope to get some info. I have 24 apple trees planted in three seperate locations across 100 acres of land in Michigan. These trees are now 15 years old and have never blossomed, or set fruit. I do not remember which type or brand of tree they were. I have pruned them and fertilized them the past 4 years in an attempt to get them to blossom and set fruit. Watched all the you tube videos etc but still nothing.. On another note, there is a wild apple tree about 200 yards away and it is loaded with apples this year. All apple trees here in Michigan are setting records this year.. Can anyone offer me any advice on what to do to get apples on these trees????? thank you | About the Author bob24 brighton 15th September 2013 5:39am #UserID: 8211 Posts: 2 View All bob24's Edible Fruit Trees |
yry says... OK , no one else has ventured a reply so I'll try for an explanation. 1) they are not apple trees; some one made a mistake 2)you somehow bought apple root-stock which never flowers. 3)they are tip flowering varieties and you keep pruning off the flowering wood. 4) you once stood on your distance glasses and have not replaced them. | About the Author yry 19th September 2013 9:15am #UserID: 8150 Posts: 44 View All yry's Edible Fruit Trees |

Brain says... on a serious note, due to the numerous possibilities, it's hard to say for certain what it is. Could I humbly suggest, given that your state has an apple industry, would it be possible if you can phone some apple growers association and ask one of their members and come and have a look at your trees and give you some expert advice. Otherwise, given the long period of time and if you have some other spare land, why not grow some new proven grafted varietes? This seem to be the surest way to get some home grown apples. | About the Author Brain Brisbane 20th September 2013 11:39am #UserID: 6289 Posts: 638 View All Brain's Edible Fruit Trees |
