apples and peaches vs possums

We live in the hinterland of the Gold Coast, it is 10 degrees cooler in the winter and 10 degrees hotter in the Summer. My daughter has an angle peach on order for my birthday in September, 2008, I am wanting some solutions to get rid of the possums, they have attacked my pot fruit, particularly the apples. I do not want the same thing happening with the peaches, HELP. Maureen,
