davewastech1 starts with ... Hi guys, Does anybody know what's causing the pits in my avo fruit? The tree is a grafted Lamb Hass Avocado and it's in Sydney. This is it's first year that I've let it bear any fruit. The pits just go in about 6mm and stop without damaging further. The fruit in the photo is less than half grown. Thanks, Dave

jakfruit etiquette says... Might be caterpillars according to this http://ipm.ucanr.edu/PMG/C008/m008fpfrtdmg.html I thought it might be possums ?? Rats gouge the skin away with their 2 front teeth, so not them. See what happens if the fruit is damaged internally ? The info is from USA, but there might be similar insects here. There are a lot of rainforest species related to avocado, with similar but inedible fruit. Might be a pest of these. If it's a big problem you could try researching Avo pests in Australia. | About the Author jakfruit etiquette gotham city,3000,Vic 21st January 2022 9:34pm #UserID: 5133 Posts: 915 View All jakfruit etiquette's Edible Fruit Trees |
