Avocado tree dead branches and brown leaves

    5 responses

I have three avocado trees in my chook pen. Two are doing well, but the third has big brown dry patches on some leaves and whole branches appear dead. When we cut one off we noticed the inside looks like a brown fungus. What is this and how do we treat it? It gets water from laundry/shower and is planted in decomposed granite - very well drained.

You'd better find some vaseline, cut the dead part until the living part, apply some vaseline to the wound, then it's okay.
You might need to control the water now

I have the same issue with my mature avocado tree and it also fails to set fruit. However this season it's looking much better - might be a juvenile thing?
