Canistel fruiting

I have a canistel var. Lyndell purchased from Daleys 5 years ago, and has never fruited, not even one!
I live just north of Brisbane on free draining sandy soil, the tree is healthy and 2 metres tall..

When can I expect fruit?

I’ve got an older Lyndal and find it to be a very shy bearer. I have a suspicion it is partially infertile as it flowers profusely, sets hardly any fruit, and the fruit that are set usually have a single seed. I grafted a few other varieties on and the new bits fruit well. I think I will start re grafting the tree if it doesn’t become more productive.

Thanks echy,

Looks like I'll have to sharpen up my grafting techniques.
Do you know where could I obtain suitable scions?

Thanks again
Dave

I have to agree, echinopora, Lyndal sets an insane amount of flowers each year with less than a handful of fruit but all drop soon after setting. On the other hand, Emma carries a heavy set of fruit to full maturity.
