Does the grafted cape chestnut grow differently to the non grafted variety? What is the difference?

Seedling cape chestnut tree usually flowers in their 7-8 years and sometimes more. Grafted varieties if you can find one will flower earlier because the scion (the top part of a grafted tree) usually comes from a mature tree thus it can flower earlier.

Another difference is the price. Grafted trees are more expensive because they are more labor intensive and requires certain level of skill to perform the grafting operation.
