Is there a easy way to tell the difference between cardamom and cardamom ginger other than waiting for it to seed?

What is cardamom ginger? Haven't come across that one.

I used to have cardamom, which grew prolifically, but I was told it would never seed where I live. It needs a truly tropical climate to bear fruit.
