Citrus (forum)

Please can someone help me. I have planed quite a few fruit trees in my garden but all my citrus die? They first of all turn yellow, lose their leaves then wither up and die? Research tells me it is an iron deficiency but I have given them more than the recommended dosage of iron chelate without making any difference. I have supplied them with citrus food and they're not lacking water. I recently checked the soil ph which was just a tad alkaline but not a great deal. When I first put them in, I added 2 bags of potting soil and raised them up on a mound for drainage. I don't know what else to do and it's stressing me big time - replacing one tree after another, then watching it die. I also have stone fruit trees and the branches are bent double with the fruit and they're the picture of health. Please help.

Someone posted an article on here which listed diseases and deficiencies.

If you scroll down to Citrus, It will show you the difference between Iron/Zinc and Magnesium.
My Lemon trees were recently yellowing on new growth and I did a folier spray of Zinc and Magnesium (bought seperatly) and they came back Dark green.
Ive since thrown some Trace elements around the surface for a slower long term uptake.
In summary, Iron is only 1 of many things they may be lacking. If a small amount dosnt help, a large dose wont either.
By saying the stone fruit are going great guns it would sound to be a deficiency that hits citrus hardest.
My guess would be to try some epsom salts (Magnesium) or a citrus/general trace elements mix.
