Manfred says... I don't think passionfruits need pollinators. I have known several which produced well with no others in the vicinity. I'm not sure though that Salisbury (if it's the one in SA will be warm enough all year round for good production by Panama varieties. You might be better off with a purple. OTOH, if you provide suitable conditions, try a Panama red as well as a yellow. A garden near here (Tully, not Wamboin at this time of the year) has both and the reds are much nicer and much more productive. | About the Author Manfred Wamboin 27th July 2017 9:40am #UserID: 9565 Posts: 243 View All Manfred's Edible Fruit Trees |

allybanana says... I think panama gold is reasonably self fertile but panama red would be my best guess of a similar genetics but different individual. Some passion fruit do better with cross pollination, black passion fruit in particular can be nearly empty with few in seeds without cross pollination. | About the Author allybanana EDEN, NSW 2nd August 2017 6:23pm #UserID: 4544 Posts: 372 View All allybanana's Edible Fruit Trees |
