Grafting Advise

    1 responses

I was just wondering if it is normal practice for a professional grafter to not seal his own grafts? I have had a grafter come in to do 1000 split grafts on our orchard. He did the last 50 grafts on a day when 20mm of rain was forecast. He then left the grafts unsealed.
Would it be ok for me to blow dry (cold air) the split then use a sealer that contains a fungicide?

Not sealed? Most likely it doesn't take.
