hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has a spare drumstick/horeradish tree? My 2 yr loves to eat rice with chicken soup, and the leaves from the horseradish tree are great in it,lots of vitamins and flavour for my lil one. If anyone has one to kindly offer one id be glad to pay 4 it. It would be nice to use fresh leaves instead of having to buy frozen ones in the market.thanks.

Hi Leslie

So far i've kept mine in a pot, and it does grow well, as i moved it into my gh during the winter month to protect from frost., I had it 3 years now. And i want to experiment with it this summer by putting it inground. Finger crosses,,,,

I am in Sydney too.

I think I have one sprouting in one of my pots under a santol plant. I'm pretty sure I threw a seed in there last month. Can't wait. Im in sydney too so hard to buy plants online or find someone with cuttings. I bought seeds from ebay 10 for $5.

How long have you been growing your Santol tree in Sydney? Is it thriving?, It must be just starting to come out of it's dormancy about now.

hi john Mc, ive had my santol tree for a year now, stayed evergreen in winter,it has new growth now. I think its a cutting,it grows extremely fast, when i bought it only had one leaf. It seems to have no problem here in sydney. I have high hopes for this tree.

I wonder why yours is evergreen? Because it's a cutting? as apposed to mine being a seedling? Mine's been as bare as a baby's bum all winter, it's only now comming out of it's dormancy, weird hey?

Sorry to be so far off your topic gledy, but I'm taken by how well sexy gardener's santol is growing in Sydney. My two are strugling, I'm tempted to pot them back up but if they do adapt and flourish here, they grow into very large trees. I'll see how they perform this year.

Thanks for your info...I had one about a year ago, but it died...Not sure if something trampled on it - found it lying on the ground but connected to the base - or if something ate the roots at it's base...Have ordered another for planting in the garden...Leslie
