Whyvonne starts with ... The plant is a Hass Avocado. I was wondering if anyone knows if it was worth trying to save this avocado tree? It is about two years old and has (what I think to be?) root rot, but I think it is too late to save it. It also has some new buds coming up. I thought the brown spots on the leaves were from too much salt in the water, but now I'm starting to think it was because of the fungi. I'm afraid if I keep it, the fungi will spread to my other avocado seedlings. Also does anyone know if the spots on the leaves are from the fungi/root rot or the water/salt? Cheers to any help. (Let me know if more pics are needed)

jakfruit etiquette says... Look at the roots, if they slip,ie when you run your fingers down the length, the skin peels off like a pair of socks then its severe root rot. If not it could be milder or staining from soil or other organisms. Fertilizers can also burn roots giving these symptoms, and let infection in. Are there any new healthy clean white root tips or new shoots. If all your other Avo are healthy and under the same conditions, then it might be sick. Unless you really want to save the tree, maybe dont bother with it ??? | About the Author jakfruit etiquette vic 13th October 2019 10:04am #UserID: 5133 Posts: 915 View All jakfruit etiquette's Edible Fruit Trees |
