Jaboticaba tree

Hello, does anyone have any tips on planting Jaboticaba trees? I just got one and poor thing is shedding!!! Advice on soil type, sun exposure etc is very much appreciated!

Some jaboticaba trees shed all leaves before a new flush. I suppose they could get a sunburnt trunk You could paint a white water base paint on the trunk and branches on the sunny side if there is a risk. I dont know for sure as I have only had evergreen ones.
