Jakfruit, to prune or not?

    1 responses

Daintree starts with ...
Hi all,
I am in two minds what to do with this jakfruit that is currently in a growth phase. I rescued it as a seedling. It has multiple stems and would like to get your opinions wether I should prune back to one main stem or just leave it. It is about 1 year old and was in poor health before putting it in the ground.
I would appreciate any help please.
Regards, Craig

jakfruit etiquette says...
I phoned a friend.. in Cairns, advice was 2 trunks might be good, as the tree will grow and fruit a bit shorter with lower first branches which is helpful for climbing to get the fruit.
