Nick T starts with ... I've got an extra space at the end of my kiwifruit trellis (the one for the Issai kiwiberry) and I'm thinking of putting in a female kiwi to train in the opposite direction. Would the kiwiberry pollinate the normal kiwi? I read on a website that kiwifruit pollen can pollinate a female kiwiberry, so I'm assuming the opposite would be possible? | About the Author Nick T Altona, VIC 16th June 2012 11:12am #UserID: 2663 Posts: 727 View All Nick T's Edible Fruit Trees |
VF says... Hi Nick, it sounds logical especially since Kiwiberry can also be grafted onto regular Kiwifruit stock. Sometimes nature can be tricky though. There's a decent growing guide for Kiwifuit/Kiwiberry at http://www.nec.org.nz/growing-fruit-and-nuts/files/Fruit%20Guide%20-%203-Kiwifruit-Kiwiberry.pdf . Hope your trellis is strong. | About the Author VF Wongawallan 17th June 2012 12:14pm #UserID: 6795 Posts: 736 View All VF's Edible Fruit Trees |
