Crazpony starts with ... Our landscapers, who longer cut our grass, knicked our key lime tree at the top of the graft, the tree appears to be in shock, not growing like it was. Is there anything I can do or put around it to aid in its recover, it was with limes, now we have 2 survivals. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jakfruit etiquette says... That doesn't look too recent to me ?? It seems to be healed where you can see the lip on the left side. You may be able to cover the tree with a shade cloth cover to reduce the transpiration. If the rootstock produces any suckers you could bridge graft them into the top part above the wound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnSd5Gk0GR4 You wouldnt exactly do whats in the video, just bridge the wound a bit lower. You don't always need a sucker to bridge, its easier. You can use a small branch or two to connect over the wound. Some techniques use a new rootstock seedling planted at the base of the tree instead of the sucker. If the plant has stopped growing, may be harder to correct. How about a photo of the top foliage ? | About the Author jakfruit etiquette gotham city,3000,Vic 3rd January 2022 8:59am #UserID: 5133 Posts: 915 View All jakfruit etiquette's Edible Fruit Trees |
