leaves falling from pawpaw

Frederico1 starts with ...
I live in Winston Salem, NC. It is early June and the leaves of my 3 yr old pawpaw tree have begun falling. They are still green. New sprouts are coming up on root stock. Leaves on the other young trees are fine. What could be the trouble? Thank you very much.

Sounds like it has died above base from trauma - sunburn - chemical - other? Have you discovered anything as sounds like will regrow? Put up a photo?
