Lemon trees

Can you help? The lemons on my tree are always dry and brownish inside when i cut them open. The tree is about 15 years old and i have never had a problem before.

I heard that it was because the tree is not given enough water when the tree is fruiting.

Useally happens with inconsistant watering. this is easer to happen when we have such a consistanly hot summer and extra water was needed to finish of the fruit.
