How close to my house can I plant a navel orange tree? The man at the nursery said it should only grow 3-5 metres and shouldn't upset the foundations of the house.

Hi d/duck,
I wouldn't plant it closer than 4 or 5 metres. They are fairly shallow rooted tho.

Thanks for the reply Brendan.
I did some research and saw enough espaliered that I think I can get away with putting them this close as long as I keep them trimmed. Will have to experiment to see how short the branches can be and still carry fruit.
