JanB starts with ... I recently purchased two parrot trees and followed the directions on the you tube clip. They are now planted, one of which has been getting new growth and looks healthy, but the other looks a bit dry, no new growth and the leaves have closed up. Any thought on how to save this? Pauline Staff of Daley's Nursery says... Hello Jan, it could be that it needs a bit more time to establish. If you are really worried, you can scratch the bark with your fingernail and if it is still green then your plant is alive. Don't overwater during this time, and I recommend a foliar treatment such as a seaweed preparation. This can reduce the severity of stress to the plant. These plants are pretty hardy and it should push through later in spring. | About the Author Pauline Staff of Daley's Nursery Kyogle 11th September 2019 1:53pm #UserID: 19813 Posts: 87 View All Pauline Staff of Daley's Nursery's Edible Fruit Trees |

JanB says... Thanks Pauline, I am grateful to daley's for replacing my tree, the other one I purchased at the same time has gone ahead really well. I have done as you said, the tree is now in a pot and there is a slight tinge of green when I scratched it. Maybe it might recover, I have used some seasol. The one that you have sent me now looks completely different to the problem tree, the leaves are a nice green, not an olive colour.
