Hi Hester
Since peanut tree is an Australian native plant it disliked alkaline fertilizer like mushroom compost. For better result use pelletised chook manure like dynamic lifter etc or blood and bone every spring and autumn. You can also use fertiliser specifically designed for Australian natives. They desire to be mulched too.
Happy gardening 😎
