Does anybody know the best big backyard species of Pecan nut tree for the Gatton area of SE Queensland? I gather I need two off for better pollination. The area does get frost and heat and can be dry in winter.

Hi Malcolm, some varieties are self pollinating. Daleys sells them designated with SP after their name. So if you only have one the first I'd recommend is Shoshoni, Mohawk, Pawnee and Cherokee. If you choose a variety from us then you need to get an A variety and a B variety. They will all do well in the Gatton area, they are very tough and do well in a wide range of climates.
