sarahds starts with ... This Reed avocado is about 2 years old. This year it is covered in masses of flowers, but it is losing leaves on mass. It is well watered, well drained, fed and protected in a veggie enclosure. It is planted in a 115l pot as recommended by a local nursery as being what the commercial growers do. What would be causing this or is it normal?

David01 says... Hi arahds, When Avocado has flowers all old leave will drop and replace with new leave soon, that is the normal process repeat every year. If you grow in pot make sure the soil is not wet otherwise it will cause root rot. I prefer moist but a bit dry at this time of the year but more water between Dec to Feb. Apply few kg of Rooster Booster and a few hand full of gypsum to support the flowers and new growth and repeat every 1-2 months depends on the growth.
