I am about to receive a strawberry guava and a dwarf ambarella. I am not sure how close to a retaining wall I can plant them without risking the wall in future.
Any suggestions?

How is the wall built ?? Strawberry guava is commonly planted on fences, walls as a screen plant. Not a big plant. Not sure about the dwarf ambarella.

Jackfruit - Thanks for the reply.
The wall is built of blocks (each about the size of two standard house bricks) with a lip on the back bottom edge so that they overlap and interlock. The small space behind between soil/ground & wall is filled with rubble mostly. It is about 1.5m high and 20m+ long.
My concern was roots over time inserting between the blocks and disturbing the wall.

Sounds like the Guava will be OK if I plant it at least 1-2m behind the wall.
I can plant the ambarella in a central part of the garden well away from the wall.
