got this little gem of spam in my burn email recently. It's a newy:

Hello, I am Steve Jones. I would like to place an order from you and have it shipped with a shipping company I have used several times in the past. Before placing an order with you, I would like to know if I can pay with a credit card (such as Master, Visa or American Express), also, I don't like to place online orders so can I simply email my order and have you give me a quote? This will allow the fastest processing of my orders. Before we continue with this order, i will like it to come to your notice that, I will send you my order and i will need you to get back to me with the total cost of my order. I will send you my credit card to be charged for the total cost of my order and I would like you to help me Charge another extra fee from my card for the freight forwarder who will be coming to pick up my ordered items from you, as they do not presently have a credit card payment option, because they are presently reconstructing their management. After all the charges have been made on my credit card, you will help me Transfer the shipment fee to the freight forwarder and i will let them know when to come for the pickup as soon as i have the go ahead from you. Let me know if this can be done and i will get back to you with the items needed.Looking forward to your swift response then we can proceed further as soon as possible.. Very Respectfully, Steve Jones

I just spent more then 30 hrs to get rid of all the malware in my pc. I couldn't even use it anymmore.

Never download software like Winzip from Cnet or Softonic, they will also install malware in your pc.

Then it gets even worse if you try to remove that. I used Spyhunter and after scanning many hours i had to pay them or it won't do anything.
Try getting Spyhunter out of the pc, thats 100% impossible.

But the worst was DNS-unlocker. That made me so angry so i tried 8! different malware removers and after the 8th it was finally gone.

Why Microsoft or Google don't help us with that? From now on i also call them scammers.

And why do we have to download Winzip anyway? Can't they just build it into Windows?

Anyway, i don't open anything anymore. Also not from Steve Jones.

Yes BK - never download a software pre loader to get free software --

Microsoft has a malicious software removal tool with Microsoft update but it never tells you if its removed anything.

What software did finally get rid of your Malware?

Zemana anti malware did it.

I followed this website but the viruses even could only let me read it for 5 seconds before another page popped up.

Windows defender was turnded off and deleted by some virus and Microsoft Fixit crashed after 4 hours. I even couldn't reinstall Defender.

Almost all virusscanners crash after some hours.

My next PC will be an Apple, so sick and tired of all this.

I had more then 100 malware proggies running and the pc became very slow and full of ad's.

Well, Malwarebytes will remove most Malware. It' easier to set up your pc so you don't get it. Start by running firefox with addons--a good addon is WOT (web of trust) which pings for sites that contain browser jackers/malware, and addblock plus filters it too.

BK you will still get Malware on a Mac. I've got a 15 inch Retina which I never use, because I cannot stand the interface. Probably my most regrettable purchase I've made....windows is just way, way better than OS. Macs are sexy looking toys, and unless you're in the multimedia industry, there's not much reason to get one. For the price of the Retina I could have built an absolute monster of a desktop or laptop. Most viruses are pretty tame and can be rooted out with standard AV software.

Well that DNS-unlocker is a real pain in the butt. I can't believe that company's like softonic just are allowed to spread that. Man was i angry with them.

But i also need a laptop which doesn't get warm, this one (Dell) i can't keep on my lap or my nuts will get cooked.

I want a Macbook without harddisk but have never used a Mac before.
In fact i'm even an MCSE, Microsoft Certified Engineer haha.

But you should sell that retina Mac, now they are still worth a lot.

My problems all started when i installed some adblocker on Chrome. From there i got lost the track.

But actually i don't want to have anything expensive, just a good brand is fine, no fancy bells and whistles. And never a Siemens-Fujitsu again which burned out within 2 years.

One day at the airportsecurity i had a man approaching me and he wanted my notebook. I had grabbed the wrong one from the belt haha, he had mine.

I also get fake mail from all Dutch banks, paypal, creditcards and so on. It seems the scammers will never give up and i still wonder how they got my email. When i report them it doesn't help at all.

I read there is a new OS now for Android which is ad-free and apple also will start with that soon.

That would be a great advantage to have, maybe i go for that but now my Dell works fine again, only gets so hot.

If you can fit an SSD - Solid State Drive - No Moving parts and Win7 loads in 30 sec - AMAZING - Had 2 Hard Drives die on me as they arnt foolproof at all - heard once the magnetic pickup on a hard drive is like the Empire state building flying a metre off the ground at 1000mph - so there is lots that can go wrong and SSDs have a 5 year warranty.

PS - They arnt cheap but worth every cent - still cheaper than the 8MB Ram i bought in early 90s for $800.

I guess an SSD is smaller then a HDD? Then that's what i'll do.

I don't need a supercomputer and don't play videogames anymore (they even don't run on this one).

Bangkok had a huge IT-mall for parts but it's closed now. But it's still easy to buy parts here. I 'll check it out.

no BK - they are built same size as 3.5inch for laptops and maybe 4.5inch for desktops -
plugs into same port and already formatted NTFS so just reinstall from Backup and away you go.
They are basically lots of 64gb chips in series that are like lots of SD Cards in a box. What i love no more moving parts - runs cooler too. Only moving part is the fan thats probably overkill now.

Oh cool, then i'll sure buy one. A fan is Ok for me, it's 33 degree's in the house now.

Since i'm out of the IT-business i didn't follow all the new stuff.

But with the fibreinternet we got a tv-box which can show internet-tv and do everything my laptop can. I had never heard of most functions it can do though but it proves that a very small box can do the same (or more) as a notebook, even HD-tv on a big tv.

But also that box gets hot, i will make a granite minitable for it. I'm scared for fire.

BK are you after a laptop or a desktop?

Whatever you do, DO NOT get an AMD chipset...make sure you go intel.

I can link you a monster desktop (yes, with an SSD) that will be future proof for at least 5 years. Total cost is around 2k.

I put a 500GB SSD in my i5 windows 7 laptop and im sure it doubled its speed without doubt - dont need another laptop unless the rest of the machine goes bung.

The Samsung 3.5 SSD cost $239 rated from 540mbs to 6gb/sec max R/W - why get a mechanical Hard Disk anymore?

A bit like when I put 8 or 16mb RAM into my windows 3.1 desktop - Do miss DOS tho.

500 gb is too much for me, but 250 would be nice. Is Samsung the leading brand now for SSD? Sure they sell loads of cheap/copy copy brands here but i want a good one so the laptop lasts another 5 years.

I don't miss dos haha but who would have thought that now cheap computers can load 6 gb in a sec. I was so proud with my first Pentium 60 pc many years ago. Before that i had a Commodore64 but since i spent all my time behind that thing and not at my homework my father sold it (without asking or so).

But the speed of my laptop isn't bad, i just hate it that my email is so slow, that's Microsofts slow server i guess. 20 seconds to load my inbox!

And many times a day i can't load this forum because something is too slow.
I can load dutch websites very fast though, always.

We have another Phantip IT-mall in BKK and i will walk in there soon. Sure they will sell SSD and copy copy's of them.

Sternus i only use laptops because i live in 2 country's.

My old 17" laptop had AMD chipset with a very good Nvidia graphiccard onboard on the motherboard.
That graphic card burnt out because of dust on the cooling ribs. Then i couldn't replace it so bought this thing.

Now i have Intel i3 for 5 years allready. It's not bad but can't play videogames, only good old Red Alert 2.

But no i don't need a new pc, only an SSD.

Maybe a very small notebook to bring with me would be nice. So i can show treesellers what i want and they don't have. But my big fingers can't type on touchscreens so laptop is the best for me.

I didnt think you could get an SSD Copy unless they go out the backdoor of the major manufacturers - the technology is pretty amazing using a bunch of silicon wafers married up to an SAT connector and low powered and cool running to boot.

DOS did help me get out of some situations - but I am still blown away when I installed my old Falcon 4 Flight Sim and it ran perfectly in 3D with everything ticked - have to try a refuel from a tanker as was very glitchy in past system even using a Monster 3D Card on a pentium2 how times have changed? BTW whats a floppy disk???? have to throw them all out.

Here they sell everything copy copy, Iphones and all, they even work.

Maybe they are b-grades or stolen or whatever but they are for sale and not hard to find.

Also they have some broken products behind the counter waiting for a tourist to sell to. It's always tricky to buy something here, even in big official shops.

I even don't use CD's or DVD's anymore, too lazy to get them out of the box haha.

Yes floppydrives were expensive in the past, then came the casette-tape storage devices which could store many games. Those were the days.

But it's time Windows get's a serious update, it's far too complicated now.
Computers should make things easyier, not more complicated.

And i tried to get Windows10 as update but i have to be in the qeueu for many weeks while in Holland they allready have it. Guess that's because i'm in Thailand with an official Windows7 bought in Holland.

Oh well, as long as i have internet i'm happy. Can't live without anymore.
