Trees That Don't Attract Bats

    1 responses

I have an small acreage property in bayside Brisbane and bats are generally welcome. But I would like to plant small trees (less than 5M) around the house that don't attract bats so the paths and pool area don't get messed up. Any ideas.

Bats love fruit, so I'd avoid fruit trees. Go for pungent plants like mint, anything with a really strong menthol smell, or any really pungent eucalyptus or cinnamon smell.
You'll probably have an aromatic garden around the house rather than fruit - but the bats are less likely to want to be there.
Good luck
